Can I monetize my videos or create them for my clients?

You have full commercial rights to all the videos you create using Lumen5.

What is the copyright status of the media library?

The media library features millions of copyright-free and commercially-licensed photos, videos, and music. Much of the content is available for commercial use.
Some of the files require attribution, but rest assured that when this is necessary, Lumen5 will automatically generate the credits and include them into your video.

Why are there watermarks on my video?

If you’re seeing a watermark on your video, don’t worry! Watermarks appear in our video editor and media library, but once you render your video they will be removed.

What is WebGL and why do I need it for Lumen5?

WebGL is an API library that is used to render graphics in our videos. Lumen5 relies on WebGL in a lot of its features so it’s critical that your device can support the required version of WebGL. However, even if you have the right version running on your device, sometimes WebGL support can be lost for various reasons and that may prevent you from being able to edit your videos.

What file type/format will my video download in?

Lumen5 videos are downloaded in MP4 format. The only exception is videos created in the Story format. These videos will be downloaded as a .zip file, with each scene rendered in an individual MP4 file. This is so that you can upload each scene to your story separately for viewers to tap through.

What is the Lumen5 Media Library?

Images and videos in Lumen5 are available in three distinct buckets.
The standard library is made up of 15 million images and videos.
An extended premium library with an additional 2 million images and videos from Shutterstock is available on some plans.
And finally, Business plans and above offer access to the media marketplace, which provides credits to use each month towards 160 million images and videos from Shutterstock’s extended collection.
