AskTutor requires no registration, so we started directly on the homepage. We tested the chat with a question about photosynthesis, and the tutor provided a clear, step-by-step explanation of the process. It outlined the main stages, key terms, and why photosynthesis matters.
We then asked for additional detail on one of the points, and the tutor expanded the explanation naturally. It added helpful context about the topic, showing that it handles follow-up questions well and maintains consistency in the conversation.

To test the document-based tutor, we uploaded a case study PDF and asked the tool to summarize it. The tool generated a structured summary of the document, covering the broad aspects of the topic. The summary stayed close to the source content and highlighted the main insights without unnecessary detail.

Next, we selected Physics from the top menu to test subject-based tutoring. The physics tutor explained Newton’s Second Law using an everyday shopping cart example, along with formulas and simple numerical illustrations. It showed how changes in force or mass affect acceleration. The explanation included clear steps, a practical scenario, and a short conclusion—similar to what students would expect from a helpful physics tutor.
