3 decisions
Two things separate these tools more than anything else. The first is what kind of search is needed: typed questions, uploaded images, or fraud checks. The second is cost before any result arrives. iAsk.Ai, Perplexity, lenso.ai, and Komo AI all have free plans to start with. FaceCheck.ID requires buying credits before a single search runs, and AddSearch starts at $119 a month billed annually, making both the most expensive entry points here. Komo AI is the only tool that publishes every plan price outright, from $15 to $200 a month.
iAsk.Ai and Perplexity answer typed questions and return sources alongside the answer. Both have free plans. Komo AI does the same and adds a topic-exploration mode with an ad-free interface. Its paid plans run from $15 to $30 a month, with a business tier at $200 a month. For image-based work, lenso.ai finds where an image appears online and can match faces across photos. PimEyes limits searches by its terms to a person looking for their own face. FaceCheck.ID adds a database of flagged accounts and scammers, starting at $19 for 14 days.
iAsk.Ai, Perplexity, lenso.ai, Komo AI, and PimEyes all let a search run before any payment is needed. iAsk.Ai's free plan includes unlimited daily searches. Perplexity's free plan has no published search cap. FaceCheck.ID has no free tier; credits must be purchased first, starting at $19 for 14 days, and payments are accepted only in cryptocurrency. AddSearch starts at $119 a month billed annually, the highest published entry price here. Bonsai, which runs managed search clusters for developers, starts at $25 a month but scales to $5,500 a month at the enterprise level. lenso.ai and GigaBrain Pro both list their premium prices as contact sales rather than publishing a number.
Komo AI is the clearest: $15 a month for the basic plan, $30 for premium, $200 for business, all published on the site. iAsk.Ai puts its Pro plan at $9.95 a month. Perplexity puts its professional plan at $20 a month. FaceCheck.ID publishes its credit packages, from $19 for 14 days to $597 for a year. Bonsai publishes its standard and business ranges. lenso.ai, PimEyes, and GigaBrain Pro give no price without a sales contact, which makes them harder to compare against the tools that do publish. AddSearch publishes $119 a month for keyword search and $700 a month for its AI answers tier, but its conversational tier requires a sales call.

iAsk.Ai, Perplexity, lenso.ai, Komo AI, GigaBrain, and PimEyes all have free plans. PimEyes allows one free search per visit. FaceCheck.ID, AddSearch, and Clipto have no free plan. FaceCheck.ID requires purchasing credits before any search runs, AddSearch starts at $119 a month, and Clipto offers only a 7-day trial at no charge.
lenso.ai, FaceCheck.ID, and PimEyes all do reverse image and face searches. lenso.ai has a free plan and searches across multiple categories including duplicate detection. PimEyes offers one free search and focuses on helping people find where their own face appears online. FaceCheck.ID is paid only, starting at $19 for 14 days, and adds a database of flagged scammers and criminals that the other two do not carry. Payments on FaceCheck.ID are accepted only in cryptocurrency.
iAsk.Ai and Perplexity both cover academic research and have free plans. iAsk.Ai's free plan includes unlimited daily searches and a document analyzer. Perplexity returns sourced answers with citations on its free plan. Komo AI also supports academic research and starts free, with paid plans from $15 a month. All three return sources alongside answers, which matters when checking a claim.
GigaBrain's original search service, which pulled answers from forum discussions, is shutting down because of restrictions on platform data access. The team is moving to a video platform called Aire. A free access tier and a Pro plan exist, but the Pro price is not published. Anyone who relied on GigaBrain for research from forums will need to look at Perplexity or Komo AI instead.
FaceCheck.ID, TrueMedia, Hive, Deepware, and Reality Defender all appear here for deepfake or fraud detection work. FaceCheck.ID is paid only and focuses on matching faces against databases of flagged accounts. TrueMedia, Hive, Deepware, and Reality Defender are also listed in this category but no pricing or plan details are published for them here.
Clipto does this. It transcribes and indexes personal videos, audio recordings, photos, meetings, and documents so they can be searched by keyword or question. All files are stored locally by default. Clipto is paid only, at $24.99 a month or $12.49 a month billed yearly, with a 7-day trial. No other tool here searches personal local files in the same way.
