Sometimes, all you need is a basic and simple tool to edit videos, but most of today's apps are stuffed with unncecessary AI features which is overwhelming most of the time. Capcut is one of those cases, but used to be very great

I see your point, but I still think CapCut is one of the easiest video editing tools to use. Compared to Adobe Premiere, it took me much longer to learn. Personally, I don't mind the extra AI features as long as they're optional and actually make editing easier.

CapCut desktop. auto captions alone saved me hours, I used to type subtitles by hand for my short videos which was painful. tried DaVinci Resolve for a week, super powerful but the learning curve was too much for what I need (quick reels and demo videos). maybe later if I get more serious about video

Auto captions are such a time saver! What part of editing still takes you the most time? I find very useful using keyboard shortcuts for splitting and trimming clips instead of doing everything manually with the mouse.

pngmerge tool

In Video Editing workflows MergePNG handles the frame-export problem: when I export stills from a timeline for storyboards or error reports, I end up with dozens of PNGs. Merging them into one scrollable sheet takes ten seconds in the browser. No install, no watermark, and the client gets a single file instead of a zip bomb.

How to choose Video Editing tools

Start with the kind of video you need to finish. A quick social clip, a work update, and an AI-made ad call for different tools, so your main task is the easiest way to narrow the choice.
